Do you admire a perfectly aligned smile but find traditional braces too difficult? High Forest Dental offers Invisalign clear aligners to ensure patients in and around Columbine, Colorado, achieve straight smiles without the hassle of metal braces. Invisalign is discreet, comfortable, and convenient, and the results are comparable to those of conventional braces.
Traditional braces use metal wires, brackets, and ligatures (elastic bands) to apply controlled pressure on your teeth. Invisalign doesn’t use metal appliances. The Invisalign aligners are created from high-quality thermoplastic material. When worn, the aligners are nearly invisible and can be removed during meals or eating.
Invisalign was invented in 1997 and was not introduced in the market until the early 2000s. Over the last 24 years, Invisalign has undergone tremendous advancements to be as effective as traditional braces. This nearly invisible treatment is ideal for gapped, overcrowded, or misaligned teeth today. It also corrects malocclusions or “bad bites” like overbites, crossbites, and underbites.
Your treatment starts with a consultation with Dr. Allison Brown. Our dentist will examine your teeth and gums to determine your eligibility for Invisalign. You should have healthy teeth and gums, as a strong foundation is essential for achieving a lasting, beautiful smile. Building a new smile on an unhealthy foundation would be like constructing walls on a crumbling base.
Next, the dentist will digitally scan your teeth and use 3D technology to map your treatment plan. Our Invisalign lab will create a series of customized aligners that move your teeth in a computer-controlled sequence. You will wear the aligners full time, ideally 22 hours per day, and only remove them when cleaning your teeth or eating. Also, you will switch your aligners to a new one every 10-14 days until your last set. The dentist will mark the finish of your treatment by prescribing a retainer. At High Forest Dental, we include 4 sets of retainers with your treatment. This customized appliance prevents teeth from relapsing into their old, misaligned positions.
Are you considering Invisalign? Here are reasons why you won’t regret that decision.
